Agile School Portals is a part of Modifiable Office Technologies, LLC, a software services company who has provided business solutions to clients in various industries since 1996. Essentially, we are programmers (with decades of experience) who have teamed with several school districts to create the Agile School Information Portal – software that consolidates data within a school system and makes it securely available over the web.

The initial development of the Agile SIP was truly a collaborative effort. After an extensive search, school district 206 in Alexandria, Minnesota had almost decided their desire for an all-inclusive data communication system was unattainable. They were looking for a way to make the information contained in their various existing software systems more accessible, flexible and usable. But they didn’t want to have to change any of their current software or increase time spent in training and support. Enter Tom Seest of Agile School Portals. Tom sat down with Craig Andrews, Director of Technology for Alexandria and began to map out a solution. With input from school staff, the initial version of the Agile SIP began to take shape. Soon after came implementation. The district immediately began to realize the advantages of enhanced parent/school interaction, easy information access and extensive reporting.

The benefits to Alexandria 206 have been numerous. “The Student Information Portal has allowed us to go paperless on our progress reports.” says Andrews. “Not only does this reduce our costs by saving us countless man hours for preparing these mailings, but it allows us to eliminate the costs of postage, paper, and envelopes for these eighteen mailings on an annual basis to the parents. The information that the parents receive via the Student Information Portal is up to date and does not increase the workload of the administrative staff, the teachers, or counselors in the district.”

The Agile School Information Portal Suite continues to grow. Our customer advisory board members meet regularly to review and suggest new enhancements. Now including staff from a number of different school districts, our collaborative effort continues and insures that the Agile SIP continues to lead the way in comprehensive school data management and access.
